Elecampane

I've been making a nightly elecampane tea for the colder months and the aroma alone is worth it, earthy and a little sweet. The cut pieces are clean with almost no dust, so a teaspoon goes a long way.

The dried root arrived in nice chunky pieces, not dusty powder, so it holds up well in a long simmer. I've been adding it to my evening tea and the earthy, slightly bitter taste grew on me by the third cup. Feels like one of those old herbal staples worth keeping in the pantry.

Steeped a small handful in hot water for about fifteen minutes and the kitchen filled with this earthy, almost camphor-like scent. Been drinking a cup before bed and it's become my favorite part of the evening wind-down.
